For 9 months I thought about the day that baby girl would arrive... I hoped and prayed that she would be healthy.
At 2:30am on 7/27, I woke up to some contractions. I tossed and turned for the next hour and a half and wondered if they really were contractions or not... and exactly how far apart were they?
All kinds of crazy things go through your head... like what time do I call my folks to come over or should I let Patrick sleep some more? At 3:45am I decided I should wake Patrick up and call my folks. Afterall, if she took after John it would be lunch before she made her arrival.
By the time we got to the hospital, the contractions were more painful, but I had EPIDURAL on the brain. All I needed was to get in, get admitted and then no more pain. Baby girl had other ideas... we got to the hospital at 4:45am and Emily was born at 5:54am. Needless to say, she came so fast that there were no drugs... yep, this girl was au natural!
Emily Lynn Tranum was born at 5:54am weighing in at 6 lbs 10 oz and 19" long. We are so happy to have our sweet baby girl here! I hope you all get to meet her soon!
